I contribute to a crossfunctional team of engineers, technologists, and designers working on an innovation and rapid-prototyping program for a big-tech client. My responsibilities include:
- Drawing and releasing tool CAD to vendors with DFM for machining.
- Preparing, casting and assembling deliveries of dozens of prototypes with a rapidly changing POR, multiple variants, and a large BOM.
- Analyzing and characterizing defects and failure modes.
- Designing test fixtures and implementing process improvements for reduced fallout.
- Sourcing and approving new components to adapt to changing design needs of the program.
- Documenting and communicating approach, progress, and blockers to the client on a daily basis.
